The Air Max Triax Run Continues With A 90s Friendly Purple

Overshadowed by its Nike Air Max and and Zoom Air contemporaries from 1995 and 1997, respectively, the Air Max Triax was finally retroed late last year for the first time since its 1996 debut. While the cult-classic has since enjoyed faithful reissues of original colorways, it continues to fly under-the-radar thanks in part to the Air Max 90‘s 30th Anniversary. But if an upcoming “White/Burgundy Ash/Purple Nebula” colorway is indicative of anything, it may be that the vintage runner is determined to avoid repeating history.

Uppers on the Air Max Triax offered runners in the ’90s an impressive mix of breathability, durability and style. The former two benefits were made possible through mesh bases overlaid with leather mud and lace guards, midfoot and heel panels, and suede underlays throughout. As subjective as “style” is, there’s no denying the timelessness of the ’96-silhouette’s of-the-era outfits. Though not OG, the purplish/reddish arrangement on this upcoming Air Max Triax captures the flair that led knowledgeable collectors to hunt pairs down during the sneaker’s 20-year-hiatus. And when complemented by both reflective accents and large Air units at the heel, this colorway is a promising sign for the sneaker’s second-life.

Take a closer look at this Air Max Triax here below and anticipate pairs dropping in women’s sizing on Nike.com soon.
