The Nike Air Metal Max Is Returning In Original Black/White Colorway

At the forefront of the big and beefy era of Nike Trainers in the late 1990s is the Air Metal Max, among others. Fondly remembered for its full-length segmented Air Max unit and ventilated upper with metal mesh, this training shoe was the poster-child of Nike design at the time, with bulky models dominating all categories. Originally debuting in 1997, the Metal Max saw a smaller re-issue in the early 2000s, but for nearly two decades this chunky model has remained dormant – until now. The OG black/white colorway is indeed confirmed to return alongside some newer retro colorways to fill in the gaps – although we’re certain the purists will be eyeing this first-generation make-up without question. Stay tuned for an official sneaker release date.

In other mid-late 1990s Nike Retro updates, check out the upcoming Air Barrage Low in white and black.
