As Kanye West universalizes his adidas Yeezy empire one Yeezy Boost 350 at a time, he’s kept Steven Smith, Christian Tresser and the rest of the Yeezy design team busy with other boundary-pushing silhouettes. The Yeezy 700 v3, which first arrived late last year, makes its first appearance of 2020 today.
Like its “Azael” predecessor, the Yeezy 700 v3 Alvah keeps its colorway simple. Primeknit bases and their mixed material overlays are clad in black, save for the YZY QNTM-like detailing across the profiles. Midsoles, which up the chunky ante from the Yeezy 700 v2, also partake in the dark makeover. Outsoles, however, feature cutouts that reveal yellow, non-Boost cushioning that not only further interrupts the tonal arrangement, but also makes the model more affordable than previous versions of the Yeezy 700.
