Throughout thirty-six installments, the Nike Pegasus running shoe series has had a reputation for its fit, responsive ride, lightweight feel and durability. For the 37, Nike is focusing on precision by fine-tuning the cushioning system and creating exclusive set-ups for both men and women. Thorough research has shown that female runners prefer softer air pressure underfoot than men do, so the women’s pairs have less psi (15) than the men’s pairs (20). Additionally, researchers discovered that runners hit the pavement mid-strike, where the air-bag is needed the most. So, they ditched the full-length 4mm Zoom Air to a fore-foot Zoom Air more than double the thickness (10mm to be exact). The Zoom is encased in a responsive React cushion that enhances the transition movement. The upper is also fully translucent, with a newly updated mid-foot fit bands to “hug your feet”.
