The Kids’ Nike Air Max 90 “Aura” Is Inspired By Summer Festivals

The Kids’ Nike Air Max 90 “Aura” Is Inspired By Summer Festivals

For its 30th Anniversary, the Nike Air Max 90 has pulled inspiration from all over. Now, the silhouette adds “summer festivals” to its laundry-list of muses, which already includes “outer space” and “precious metals.”

Clad in an “Aura/Sapphire/Aurora/White” arrangement, uppers on this kids-exclusive pair boast a fresh, semi-futuristic spin. “Turquoise”-like TPU eyestays, colorless mesh toe boxes and collars and light blue underlays aren’t new to the Air Max 90, but their adjacent profile Swooshes and mudguards sport finishes that are. The former ostensibly takes a page from a recent Air Force 1 Low given its lenticular composition; the latter lines the sidewalls with an equally-dazzling aesthetic perfect for rhinestone-donning festival-goers. Underfoot, Airbags and their accompanying midsole/outsole combination forgo the shimmering nature of their topside-counterparts in favor of a clean setup waiting to get dirty.
