The Nike Air Max 90 Crater Infuses Recycled Materials Into Its Construction

Crater tech and Nike Grind — almost like the roll out of React or previously innovative cushioning — has begun to run widespread throughout the veins of the entire brand umbrella, dressing up Converse Chuck 70s, Jordans, and quite a few inline staples. The Air Max 90, in fear of missing out, seems to be following suit as well, outfitting its uppers near entirely in visually overt recycled fabrics.

This variant, in slight departure from those prior, aims for something far more subtle and arguably more versatile. The various leftovers from productions reused are quieted to a smaller, somewhat camouflaged imprint as the colored threads only seem to accent in seldom. Primarily, grey composes the paneling atop — toe caps, mudguards, vamps, etc — while a lighter complement supports along the inner parts. Swooshes, whose white leathers are dressed with neon stitch along its outer side, bring attention to the branding unlike the more subdued molds that spell “AIR MAX” a few spaces underneath. Tongues, then, divert from the core palette as a vibrant wash of various pastels creates a louder backdrop on which the white tongue patch rests.

Grab a detailed look at these right here, and if you’re interested in picking up a pair, they’ll likely be available at Nike.com within the next few months.

In other news, raffles for the Off-White Air Jordan 4 are beginning to open up.
