adidas Kicks Off A-ZX Series Relaunch By Reviving The ZX 1000

After commemorating 30 years of Torsion technology in 2019, the adidas Originals team is carrying over its celebrated heritage into the new decade by revisiting their A-ZX franchise. Last executed in 2008/2009, the collection tapped a wide range of global partners to put their spin on 26 distinct ZX releases. This year, the Three Stripes family will be doing more of the same, this time working with both retail and creative partners to reimagine silhouettes that fall under the “thousand series”. First up on their running list of periodic table-themed drops is the letter “R” which stands for “retro” and involves a reissue of the original ZX 1000 colorway.

Its upper which merges between synthetic base layers and suede toe tip-heel overlays is primarily hued in natural white. Supporting this arrives refreshing aqua blue hits touching onto the toe boxes, heels, and stripes, followed by a black banner that runs from the midfoot to the heels. Further details to point out include that of the Torsion-branded dubraes coated in a neon green, as well as the cream-colored midsoles that deliver a worn-in, vintage element. You can find more images here below and expect these to release come August 7th on adidas.com.
