The Fear Of God ESSENTIALS x Converse Skid Grip Releases August 27th

Both Fear of God and their more accessible ESSENTIALS line have amassed a noteworthy handful of collaborations. And while the former has stuck close by to Nike, the diffusion has leaned on fellow umbrella label Converse, releasing a tonal series of Chuck 70s and now the brand new Skid Grip Hi.

Retro-inspired as is evident by its print, the Skid Grip is effectively a hallmark of design’s past in a shape more reminiscent of FoG’s modern silhouettes. Their staple 101 sneaker is visualized in new ways, removed from the minimal aesthetic in which its used to residing. Soles are effectively the same as mainline, sleek and ecru-tinged across its entire structure, while the canvas upper is given a vintage face lift replete with an iconic 80s print. Forefoot panels, heel counters, an the raised collar are all coated in the very same graphic heavy fabric, bearing notes of pencil’d zig-zags and colorful blocks in a fashion that emulates classic tracksuits.

Grab a detailed look at these right here, and according to Converse.com, they’ll be releasing on August 27th for $120 USD.
