The Nike Kobe 5 “Big Stage” Releases On August 23rd At 2PM ET

Nike’s Mamba Week starts a celebration well-deserved, an homage to the late Kobe Bryant and the legacy he leaves behind as the Black Mamba. Starting tomorrow, the brand will begin a week’s long span of special releases, commemorating the athlete’s life primarily through the Kobe 5 Protro.

The first up is none other than the Kobe 5 Protro Big Stage, a luxurious gold and black colorway that takes things back nearly a decade to where Bryant faced his “biggest stage.” In commemoration of his fifth championship success, the team have fused two special releases: the “Big Stage Home” Kobe 5 as well as the “Parade” PE. Loud, maximal, though monochromatic prints dress the entirety of both left and right, sprawling with reptilian motifs as well as a string of large typography — some typing out “2835,” “365,” and much more. Tongues then alternate between black and white — just like the medial and lateral sides of the tooling — while the branded emblems and heel counter finish in a metallic gold.

Grab a detailed look at these once again right here and check out the Kobe 5 Big Stage Store List to secure your pair tomorrow at 2PM ET on Nike SNKRS and a small selection of retailers.
