The last three seasons of Nike Kyrie footwear further cemented the legacy of Kyrie Irving into the history books. Known for his wizardry with the rock, Kyrie has garnered global appeal due to his attractive game and clutch heroics, while his devotion to social issues has displayed an influence that reaches way beyond the court. As a nod to the most recent cluster of season, Nike has officially unveiled the Kybrid S2, a hybrid model that combines the Kyrie 4, Kyrie 5, and Kyrie 6 – all designed by Nike footwear designer Ben Nethongkome.
To kick off the Kybrid S2 circuit are a series of releases in the month of September with colorway concepts that embrace the mash-up concept. Dropping September 3rd is the Kybrid “What The USA” which blends Team USA uniforms from 2008, 2014, and 2016 into a tie-dye pattern. On September 11th is the Kybrid “What The PE”, a dark and mysterious mix that calls out the Kyrie 5 ‘Playoff’ PE, the Kyrie 4 ‘Spotlight’ PE, the Kyrie 4 ‘Lobster’ PE and more. On September 18th is the Kybrid “What The Inline” that draws in details from styles like the Kyrie 4 ‘ASW’, Kyrie 5 ‘CNY’, Kyrie 6 ‘Enlightenment’ in a “Desert Storm” style colorway. Finally on September 25th is the Kybrid “Sashiko” Pack that nods to the Japanese technique of decorative stitching; this release will be joined by the Kyrie Low 3.
