The adidas X9000L3 Is Inspired By Gaming Culture

At a glance, adidas‘ new X9000L3 silhouette seems like an evolution from the Ultra Boost and other models with similar cushioning. And while it may be, the sneaker’s touted as one inspired by gaming’s virtual worlds.

Textile uppers feature ample breathability, but also boast triangle-shaped accents for aesthetic purposes. Profile 3-Stripes sit flush, unlike the heel structure, which protrudes ever-so-slightly. Sole units indulge in both Boost and Bounce cushioning, with the former taking over the forefoot in exposed fashion. As with adidas 4D technology, the silhouette’s outsole tread has been produced using computer-generated data. Therefore, it offers responsiveness while also playing into the virtual theme of the model’s design.

For more from the Three Stripes, three more pairs of the Prada Superstar are set to launch on September 8th.
