Some of the best releases Nike SB has offered up so far have been in collaboration with the world’s finest skateshops — Civilist, Strangelove, Instant, the list goes on. And now, with what seems to be yet another nod to Valentine’s Day, the imprint is heading a bit outside of their network to team up with Dubai’s FRAME SKATE for the Dunk Low “Habibi.”
Translated to “My Love” in Arabic, Habibi is a pet name often given to loved ones, family or romantic, and once paired with overlays of candy red, it’s hard to ignore the overall color scheme’s loose connection to the aforementioned holiday. Elsewhere, white neutrals treat the synthetic along the mid-panel as well as the tumbled leather that dresses the toe, eye stay, and collar; elsewhere, soles are treated to vintage yellowing with gum soles while the laces above lean into classic prints with their oversized houndstooth. What’s more, the Swoosh is also given an addition partner as a ribbed green check hides just behind a darker, black complement.
