Converse Celebrates Bugs Bunny’s 80th Anniversary On October 27th

The phrase “Saturday morning cartoons” evokes varying memories contingent on a number of external influences. Yet, the likelihood of the last word in said phrase immediately conjuring Bugs Bunny is high, given that the wise-cracking r(w)abbit has been at it for the last 80 years. On October 27th, the Looney Tune-favorite is gracing various classics from Converse‘s catalog as celebration of the milestone.

Although Elmer J. Fudd’s nemesis has inspired other takes from NIKE, Inc., namely on the Air Jordan 7, the forthcoming collaboration is his first with the Boston-based brand. The Pro Leather, Chuck Taylor All Star and Chuck 70 have all been reworked in either the likeness of the expressive cartoon or with graphics of the “What’s up, doc?” slinger. Of the five footwear options in the capsule, two are outfitted with faux fur replicating Bugs Bunny’s coat; carrot motifs and the aforementioned catchphrase make their way onto the Pro Leather, while the 1970s-inspired pair nods to the “Looney Tunes'” opening theme with its medial All Star patch. Accompanying takes of the Chuck Taylor, which will arrive in Adult, Kids and Toddler sizing, feature some of the rabbit’s most iconic graphics on their respective black, red, or white lateral sides.

Enjoy a closer look at the Bugs Bunny x Converse collection ahead, as you wait to secure your items at Converse.com on October 27th. (Pricing ranges between $35 USD and $100 USD.)
