Beyonce’s IVY PARK Ushers The adidas Forum Back Into The Fold

Beyonce’s IVY PARK Ushers The adidas Forum Back Into The Fold

The upcoming IVY PARK x adidas capsule by Beyonce revisits two silhouettes from the original launch – the Ultra Boost OG and the Nite Jogger – while also turning its attention to one of the brand’s most heralded models – and one of the most underrated sneakers in history. That would be 1984’s adidas Forum, a leather basketball shoe that existed in Low, Mid, and High trim. It served ballers aplenty as it provided one of the more stylish designs during the era of leather hoops shoes, and it seems that adidas is taking some concentrated effort to bring the Forum back onto the market with true-to-OG shape and pristine materials that would make any vintage collector drool. For example, Sneaker Politics dropped a limited 500-pair run of the Forum Lo, giving pairs away through a community-focused giveaway. adidas Paris seeded out 1984 pairs of a finely crafted white/royal OG. There’s no question that the Forum will be at the center of the Originals strategy in late 2020 and throughout 2021.

But starting things off as soon as October 30th is a collaboration with Beyonce’s IVY PARK imprint. They’re serving up a Forum Low in a mix of white and cream with an opaque sole, and a Mid in minty-fresh leather and suede with gum bottoms. Gladly, they’re keeping things as untouched as possible, letting the silhouette to the talking. Queen Bey’s co-sign is sure to get the attention of her “Bey-hive”, but the Forum might be better suited directed at the lifestyle sneaker market as the 80s basketball shoe trend begins its uprise.

Both pairs are set to release on adidas.com and select adidas retailers on October 30th.
