This Nike Challenger OG Is Illuminated By Opti Yellow

Since June, the Nike Challenger has been delivering nostalgia for $90 USD to sneaker – and more specifically, Swoosh – enthusiasts. While many of its earliest arrangements have been one-to-one replicas of its 1970s ensembles, the silhouette has also indulged in more vibrant, retro colorways. Case in point: a newly-surfaced “Opti Yellow/Black/Bright Citron/White” option.

The silhouette’s mix of mesh, suede and nylon deliver a lightweight, but durable ride, and boast a bumble-bee-reminiscent arrangement on the forthcoming release. “Black” takes over the toe box, profile swooshes, inner lining and heel overlay, while the remaining upper indulges in two shades of yellow. Laces, which introduced a zig-zag system to Nike’s catalog, and their accompanying tongue opt into a less eye-catching color scheme, although branding on the latter boasts vintage crimson flair. Underfoot, sole units forgo any modern-day sensibilities. Instead, the midsole dons a simple “White” makeup, while the waffle-patterned outsole is dipped in “Black.”

For more from NIKE, Inc., an UNDFTD x Air Max 97 “Militia Green” has recently been teased.
