While its full trajectory is yet to pan out, the Nike Air Max Zephyr has already drawn some notable attention from savvy sneaker enthusiasts for its future-forward design and plump cushioning. For its latest ensemble, the modern-day proposition ostensibly turns back the clock to 1999 as it emerges with loose nods to that year’s Air Tuned Max.
Referenced by Skepta for his Air Max 97 collaboration from 2017, the Tuned Air-cushioned silhouette boasts an eye-catching “Dark Charcoal/Celery/Saturn Red” colorway in its catalog that lends some of its hues to the forthcoming pair. The copper-like finish appears throughout the forefoot, while green accents adorn part of the upper and sole unit. Profile swooshes indulge in a crimson tone, while branding on the tongue is replaced by “Tn” logos in their traditional yellow makeup; as with a previously seen Air Max 90, sockliners on the new silhouette feature a plethora of Nike Air Max logos.
