The Air Jordan 9, without question, is quite under-utilized relative to the Air Jordan 1, the Air Jordan 4, and even the Air Jordan 11. But starting this season, the silhouette is slowly receiving the attention it deserves as the brand predates many 2021 standouts with a perfectly simple “University Blue” colorway.
Revealed by way of official images only weeks before its debut, the release keeps most of its constructions visually succinct. White leathers dress the base with little texture aside from the perforations and stitch at the profile, while the lace unit accents over top a mesh instep with black stings, eye stays, and branded fixtures. Along with its collar, the aforementioned elements complement the overlaid leather piece that subtly embellishes its grain with neutral glitter. The titular “University Blue” then wraps up the design by way of the Jordan-centered symbols that mark the counter, sockliner, midsole, and tongue.
Grab a close-up look at these here and expect to find them at Nike SNKRS as well as select retailers on December 5th.
