Jasmine Tang For the future of footwear, adidas turned to NASA back in November 19th to bring the former brand’s famed Boost midsole into space for further product development. A year later, the two have continued to collaborate on space-inspired iterations of popular silhouettes such as the NMD and Ultra 4D. The Ultra Boost DNA is now ready to take off alongside as the next model to get a space travel makeover.
The “Halo Silver” colorway, inspired by NASA’s cargo spacecraft, gives the Ultra Boost DNA a clean, futuristic aesthetic. Adding some dimension to the all-gray model, the heel counter has a metallic silver finish that is well-fitting for the aerospace theme. On the tongue, NASA’s true blue insignia is found to establish the space agency’s approval of the release. In a clean white, the classic foam Boost midsole finishes the model for more earthly comfort.
The Ultra Boost DNA will be available for purchase on December 6 at adidas.com and other sneaker retailers.
