The Nike Air Max 90 “Archetype” Brings Back The Sketch Concept

The Nike Air Max 90 “Archetype” Brings Back The Sketch Concept

Ahead of its 30th Anniversary, the Nike Air Max 90 was expected to appear in impressive arrangements, both thematic and otherwise, but the silhouette arguably exceeded all expectations. Before the year ends, Tinker Hatfield’s design is scheduled to revisit its design-stage with an “Archetype” iteration laden with sketch-style detailing.

As with previous schematic-reminiscent takes to appear within the Nike Air Max and Nike React lines, the forthcoming proposition features a number of free-hand-reminiscent accents. Midsole cassettes boast a faint “Bright Crimson” tone, which extends onto part of the outsole underfoot. By contrast, the TPU panels throughout the upper indulge in a much more solid version of the high-vis red, but appear either unfinished or inside-out. Tongues forgo their traditional padding in favor of a thin makeup, while collars revel in an exposed-foam build akin to the Air Jordan 1 CMFT.

Enjoy images of the barebones Air Max 90 ahead, and find pairs arriving to select retailers on December 10th.
