Jasmine Tang With the Easter holiday easing in, footwear brands are prepared to paint their sneakers in pastels and include hidden details (more fittingly, “Easter eggs”) in these special-edition releases. The upcoming Air Jordan 12 Low “Lagoon Pulse” takes this easter egg approach quite literally by giving the sky blue-accented offering a box with Easter egg packaging that’s anything but concealed.
Although festive, the pair is still versatile enough for everyday wear thanks to its white, smooth leather uppers and a matching pebbled leather mudguard. However, these white materials demonstrate a slightly pearlescent finish for a luxe, celebratory touch. The metal eyelets and Jumpman-branded overlay on the mudguard have a turn to reflect light as well, by opting for a blue-based holographic look. Chilly colors continue onto the outsole, which sees an icy blue finish similar to that on another sought-after April release, the Air Jordan 11 “Legend Blue.” Hints of the spring-friendly “Lagoon Pulse” are also found underfoot, filling in the 23 and Jumpman logos near the toe. Kicking the novelty factor up a notch, the pair arrives in a cardboard box with a large, Jordan-branded egg printed on the lid.
