Michael Le As expensive as they are interesting, Maison Margiela‘s collaborative works with Reebok have turned many of the Boston-based footwear brand’s icons inside-out. Soon — with how things are going — we may actually see this come true literally, as their upcoming Classic Leather Tabi High is not far off.
Though not the first time the two have worked on the Classic Leather, the collection sees the silhouette at its most transformed, layered atop with features beyond the beloved Tabi toe. For instance, each of the three forthcoming colorways employs a technique known as decortiqué, which sees many of the upper’s panels removed, cut to reveal the fabric lining within. This motif extends upwards to the collar whose strap reflects the look of a gladiator sandal.
Prepared in black, white, and red, the Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi High will be available via Reebok.com and possible select retailers on June 18th at a retail of $500 USD.
