Lenticular Overlays Appear On This Set Of adidas Samba OGs

Although the adidas Forum debuted as a basketball shoe back in the ’80s, the model has made quite a comeback this year by assuming a lifestyle footwear position. The adidas Samba has experienced a similar phenomenon as a silhouette rooted in soccer that has expanded beyond the boundaries of sports to become an everyday classic. adidas’s longest-running model in production continues its efforts in the lifestyle sphere by applying lenticular overlays to deliver shade-shifting, futuristic looks.

Available in both white and black options, the Samba sports a synthetic, leather-esque upper with a translucent rubber sole in a matching shade. A clear holographic overlay is secured by the laces and placed over the side stripes. On the white pair, the holographic shine has a cool-toned tinge while the black alternative uses a gold-based coloring. “SAMBA” in a playful, cartoonish font is printed on these overlays as a branded touch. The same holographic materials are applied to the heel tab to complete the old-meets-new style.

Take a closer look at the Samba below, which is available now at adidas.com at a price of $90.

In other Three Stripes-related news, the adidas Forum is receiving its first-ever skate rendition.
