Nike To Present The Air Force 1 High Strapless In Original 1982 Colorway

Air Force 1 Highs in general are few and far between — strapless pairs even more so. But with the silhouette’s latest offering, Nike is taking things back to the early 80s, removing the aforementioned fastener and applying an original, vintage feeling colorway.

The yellowed midsole aims to reflect the scheme’s age, while the white tumbled leather upper is kept conversely pristine, lacking in any sort of obvious imperfection. This extends to the laces as well, though the tongue they sit atop imparts a deceptive cream glow. Elsewhere, the Swoosh, which is clad in a bold red color like the tread, is more an indent than an overlay, subverting its inspiration by a rather subtle margin. We expect Nike to take on some unusual and creative executions of the AF1 as we approach 2022, which just so happens to be the iconic silhouette’s 40th Anniversary.
