Pink Dyed Swooshes Appear On This Women’s Nike Waffle One “Exeter Edition”

Almost half a century ago, Nike’s first official employee, Jeff Johnson, arrived at Exeter, New Hampshire to revitalize the local manufacturing industry. His innovative solution was to collect scrap materials from local vendors to craft sneakers in color and material combos like never before. Johnson’s legacy lives on and is channeled by the Swoosh’s “Exeter Edition” Pack. The collection continues to expand with the release of a women’s Nike Waffle One that mixes vivid brights with brown tones.

A warm orange mesh base is paired with brown suede overlays for a chocolate look. However, this theme is interrupted by the textured pink profile Swooshes, which exhibit a slightly faded finish that may have been due to the dyeing process. Reverting back to warm shades, “University Gold” tints the iconic stacked heel piece and decals on the tongue. Touches of purple around the collar and tongue further animate the design. To round out the look, a beige (rather than white) foam midsole sits under the base and adds a black Waffle pattern underfoot.

Take a closer look at the Waffle One below, which is available now at Nike.com for $100.
