Despite being a diffusion of a beloved silhouette, the Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT maintains a rather positive reception. This is due likely in part to its colorways, which have (to some) outdone much of what its older brother has released. Here, however, it’s going in a different, bolder direction, applying to its uppers not just gold but also the brand’s laser etching.
The latter weakens the luxurious feel of the overlays whose metallic shines to a bright polish. Only the grooves of the pattern are matted, appearing far darker relative to what’s adjacent. Elsewhere, black neutrals dress the mid-panel, lace unit, and collar, while the indented Swoosh opts for a vivid blue accent, one that loosely complements the icy tread underfoot.
Finished with a gilded Jumpman, the AJ1 Zoom CMFT “Gold Laser” should hit Nike.com and select retailers soon.
