Jovani Hernandez The New Balance 550 continues being one of the more-coveted shoes on the market among the TikTok generation thanks to cool co-signs and versatile style. Recently, the Steven Smith-designed sneaker appeared in a dusty pink suede outfit exclusive to women.
While not the first pair touted as a women’s-exclusive, the newly-surfaced style delivers a refreshing arrangement for the 550’s lineup. The shoe takes a break from the Aimé Leon Dore-approved two-tone takes that helped reintroduce Smith’s creation to the world in late 2020 in favor of an all-over suede makeup. Profile logos, upper heel and tongue areas deviate from their surroundings in shades of white while the sole unit underfoot does the same. New Balance’s next 1980s retro forgoes any “aged” midsole, opting instead for a fresh cushioning setup that features beige tread appropriate for autumn.
