ROKIT’s Converse Chuck 70 Collaboration Is Inspired By Blacktop Basketball Courts Of LA

After joining the Converse family in late 2018, streetwear label ROKIT has done little save for a two-part release with the Nike Kyrie 5. Now, quite a bit after, the brand is finally returning to the Chuck 70 with some new Los Angeles focused inspirations. Hued in nearly all black, the pair paints an overt likeness to asphalt and the blacktop basketball courts found throughout the traffic-filled city. Both Ripstop and canvas fabrics run replete throughout the upper in quarters, separated by strips of dark taping — the latter a possible nod to repairs often done to cracked ground. In the middle, the strips intersect at the siganature All-Star logo whose usual graphic flair is stitched over by textured fabrics. Elsewhere, toe caps and midsole walls are treated ordinarily in white while the outsole hides map prints and the tongue touts “Los Angeles 2020… Dedicated to those forever unbroken.” Grab a detailed look at these here and expect Converse.com as well as select retailers to get pairs on May 14th.

In other news, take an official look at the Royal Toe Jordan 1.
