Nike SB Is Releasing Air Jordan 11 “Bred” Version Of The Dunk High

Due in large part to their well-documented ties – being that the Jordan Brand falls under Nike’s massive umbrella – the Swoosh and the Jumpman have never shied away from sharing ideas and drawing inspiration from one another. One of the best examples of that idea-sharing concept is the unexpected relationship between the Nike SB Dunk and the Air Jordan 11. While both are undeniably two of the most iconic and influential silhouettes of all time, there is no logical crossover between the skate-inspired Dunk and the hoops-ready 11. However, that has not stopped the designers at Nike SB from creating colorways reminiscent of time-tested Jordan 11 colorways like the Space Jam and the Concord – that is scheduled for a return of its own later this year.

Furthering that idea, is this patent leather-equipped SB Dunk High that borrows the exact color scheme and blocking from the Air Jordan 11 Bred. Its upper comes adorned in a combination of patent leather and mesh, while its stark white midsole acts as a buffer between the black top of the shoe and its bold red outsole. Right away, this inspiration is inherently noticeable, but it is a small detail on the shoe’s heel loop that that really puts the dedication over the top. Borrowing the typeface from the heel of the Jordan 11, the Swoosh Brand has replaced the customary “23” and added its own “SB” lettering for a detail that all Jumpman fanatics will appreciate. Enjoy an official look at this Nike SB Dunk High below and look forward to its arrival on Nike.com and at other retailers in the near future.
