The Nike Tailwind ’79 Swaps Out Classic Materials For A Breathable Mesh

Among the most timeless in the Nike product line, the Tailwind ’79 recently came back in force with both general releases and collaborations — the latter mostly providing a slew of Stranger Things influence. But after the series’ recent season finale, the silhouette has gone relatively quiet, only offering pairs in seldom. Now, however, we’re seeing what is one of the only colorways to reveal this year: a striking Wolverine-esque mix of blue and yellow that makes use of more Summer-equipped mesh fabrics in favor of the usual nylon. This underlying base accents nearby suedes of darker though complementing hits while the vibrant warm tone outfits the majority of the oversized yellow swoosh as well as its connected heel tab. Tongues, whose padding is kept minimal, thinly shield with a white textile that’s underscored by typical retro branding and contrasting navy laces. Grab an official look at these right here and expect a release to hit Nike.com likely within the coming months.

In other news, a Rugged Orange Nike Foamposite was revealed.
