The Darkside Initiative Creates ACRONYM Microsite Ahead Of Nike Capsule Launch

If not for ACRONYM‘s upcoming Blazer Lows, it would have been over four years since the brand last collaborated with Nike. All that time ago, following Errolson Hugh’s departure from ACG, it was unclear whether the designer would ever return to the brand; but thankfully, the two are back together yet again, dressing up the aforementioned model with a heel piece straight out of your favorite mecha anime.

And we’re not the only ones excited about ACRONYM and Nike’s reunion; Darkside Initiative, too, is eagerly anticipating the release, so much in fact that they’ve created a microsite ahead of the launch. In it, the retailer details every single piece on offer: this includes not just the shoes but also jerseys, colorblocked tracksuits, and matching pants, all of which arrive covered in various logos. Additionally, Darkside Initiative has their own exclusive promo items inclusive of masks, totes, and decals.

For the uninitiated, the ACRONYM x Nike Blazer Low features a number of tweaks to the original silhouette. The upper, which is made of canvas instead of leather, is cut in a meticulous manner, the incisions revealing — depending on the colorway — a white or black base. Printed Swooshes and the Berlin-based label’s insignia dress adjacent, though one wouldn’t need the latter branding to tell if the collaboration was one of Hugh’s own. This is entirely because of the armor-like heel piece, whose mold can be swapped for Black, Laser Crimson, Lemon Venom, or Olive Aura.

For a look at the ACRONYM x Nike collection, see below. A release is slated to hit stores like Darkside Initiative as well as Nike SNKRS tomorrow, February 10th.
