Stephon Marbury Says “Jordan Has Been Robbing the Hood”, Calls LeBron a “Follower”

Marbury Vs Jordan

Stephon Marbury’s basketball career burnt out a few years back in the United States and the NBA, but since taking his talents to China, the star point guard has achieved an almost god-like status to Chinese hoops fans. You may remember Marbury’s foray into the sneaker market a few years back, when he created the budget-friendly Starbury line of basketball sneakers designed to make sure every kid could afford a signature basketball shoe (most of the models were priced around $15). With his current success in China, there’s no better time for Stephon to bring back his Starbury line, which he indeed has promised to do. Aiming to shake up the current sneaker industry as much as possible, Marbury recently took to Twitter to call out the state of the market’s overpriced sneakers, specifically taking shots at two of the sneaker world’s biggest names, Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Beginning with Jordan, Stephon tweeted, “Jordan has been robbing the hood. Kids dying for shoes and the only face this dude makes is I don’t care. The time will change!” He continued by stating that most Jordan shoes cost about $5 to make, and that they come from the same factories as his Starbury sneakers: “Home boy your paying 200 for Jordans and they make them for 5 dollars. The shoes are made in China in the same places. Stay calm we coming!”. Marbury also wasn’t shy to speak on LeBron as a “follower” and quickly dismissing the NBA’s superstar after a fan on Twitter asked about LeBron’s $200+ signature shoes. ” He’s a follower not even giving that any energy. ” Shots have definitely been fired. Does Stephon have a point about current sneaker prices? Will you be looking forward to the return of the Starbury line?
