The Nike Air Force Max In A Completely Modern Look

The Nike Air Force Max In A Completely Modern Look

It is no secret that one of the sneaker industry’s biggest influencers this year has been the nostalgically retro 1990s era. From the resurgence of iconic hoops models the likes of the Air More Money, to the always revered prevalence of Nike Sportswear classics like the Air Max 97, and the on-trend chunky movement that has resulted in new looks like the M2K Tekno, the maximalist nature of today’s sneaker consumers has firmly shifted the direction of the industry. The Swoosh Brand’s bulky Air Force Max model that first debuted in 1993 and became popular due in large part to the University of Michigan’s “Fab Five” has returned in a number of new and refreshing colors as of late in its original form, but now it is set to debut in a whole new modernized construction. Designed for today’s rigorous, fast-paced game, 2018’s version of the Air Force Max boasts a more prominent Nike Air unit, a sloped down shape centered around a reinforced ankle collar for more support, and a shimmering plastic heel cup for stability. A midfoot strap meant to aid in its lockdown keeps it in line with the old model’s signature design ethos, while its colorfully, abstract upper continues to harken back to its retro-inspired origins. No word regarding this new take on the Air Force Max’s release currently exists, but enjoy a first look below and tell us what you think about the new innovations.
