Nike Running Introduces Cold Weather Options As We Approach Winter 2020

Before you know it the winter season will be here, and for runners still looking to rack up their monthly miles amid the colder weather, comfortable and functional footwear will be key. So in preparation for the rain, sleet, hail, and snow, the Swoosh is readying a full-fledged capsule of new sneakers, all of which are reinforced with technical elements built to withstand slippery terrain.

First on the list is the Pegasus Trail 2 GORE-TEX. As confirmed by its namesake, its entire upper is upgraded with that of a waterproof exterior to keep your feet moist-free in the streets. Design-wise it’s highlighted by its oversized branded hits on the lateral and medial walls, the former of which hosts an enlarged Swoosh, while the latter appropriately spells out “GORE-TEX”. Additional components to point out include that of beefed up heel traction, and midsoles adorned with speckled wallpaper.

Next on the lineup is the Pegasus 37 Shield. Aesthetically, this silhouette doesn’t fall too far from the original Pegasus 37 in terms of its shape, but subtle details such as the larger Swoosh logos, water-wicking uppers, and reimagined treading inspired by winter tires are significant characteristics to point out. Two colorways including a black and grey, as well as a black with with blue/pink accents will kick off the model’s launch this month.

The third sibling is the Nike React Miler Shield which is essentially a weatherized variation of the Infinity React runner that debuted earlier this year. Visually, the pair sports a low and sleek shape, and comes packaged with that toe boxes ornamented with diamond-shaped patterns, synthetic paneling that runs from forefoot to heel, and mid-sized Swooshes stamped just below the first set of lace loops. Stacked underneath arrives a fully-loaded React foam sole, and substantial tire-influenced outsoles to provide wearers with ample traction. Three colorways including grey/black, a black/purple, and a tan/pink/purple are set to release soon.

Peep a first look at each pair here, and expect Nike.com to launch each style in the coming weeks.

For other news, a new Nike Kyrie 6 N7 colorway has just released.
