The Air Jordan 9 Pinnacle “Baseball Glove” Pack Releases Worldwide On July 15th

Air Jordan 9 Pinnacle Baseball Glove

Update: The global release date is now July 15th.

Looking back once again for inspiration to Michael Jordan’s brief stint playing baseball while temporarily retired in 1994, Jordan Brand is releasing a very special edition of the Air Jordan 9 Retro this summer. Built in a premium leather construction, the shoe is designed to look like a baseball mitt with added leather threading across the upper. The shoe will be featured in two colorways of black with his #45 from the Birmingham Barons and brown with #35 that he wore while playing for the Scottsdale Scorpions.

Making for one of Jordan Brand’s most unique releases yet, the two colorways will be packaged in a “mystery” style, with the shoe box covered in a plastic wrap inspired by baseball cards. Jordan Brand has confirmed that the brown leather colorway will be much more limited than the black pair, which of course makes it the more desired find for collectors. Baseball caps and jerseys (not yet revealed) will also be available at retail to round out the special edition Air Jordan 9.

No US release date for the Air Jordan 9 Pinnacle “Baseball Glove” has been announced yet, but the pack is scheduled to launch at Jordan Brand retailers in Asia on July 11th, so expect them soon here in the States. Stick with Sneaker News to keep you up to date on release details.
