The New Balance 670 “Year Of The Rat” Is Available Now

Next Saturday marks the commencement of the Lunar New Year celebrations, and after revealing their 577 silhouette in a “Year of the Rat” colorway, New Balance is also transferring some Eastern thematics to this updated iteration of the 670. Designed to interpret the colors found on the Husky Rat breed, this latest version dyes its nubuck and pigskin-engineered upper with nude and grey hues to mirror elements of its fur. Complementing tones of pink are additionally added into the forefoot overlays to translate the rodent’s other features such as its ears, paws, and tail, which ultimately result in a much brighter approach to its collection sibling. Additionally, characteristics relative of the Chinese New Year festivities are alluded to directly upon the insole graphics as they appropriately print the number “20” along with a Chinese-character below set with a gilded finish. More images of these celebratory kicks are available below, and note that these are now available on NewBalance.com for $160.
