This Air Jordan 1 Defiant Is Inspired By 80s DIY Culture

Air Jordan 1s are timeless by design and by presentation, though under the “Defiant” moniker, the classic silhouette is set to be thrust into make-ups more adventurous and rebellious in their nature. Loosely dipping their toes in lightly similar executions, the forthcoming “Tour Yellow” iteration is one inspired heavily by 80s DIY culture. Much like denim and leather jackets were patched with abandon, the distressed accents and frayed edges that appear once torn off have given Beaverton a wealth of connections to play off of. Otherwise an ordinary pair of smooth leathers, the lateral swoosh on the left foot pair and medial on the right are seen ripped from their seams with only the contrast thread left to outline the iconic logo; on the other side, however, a bright yellow variations sits untouched. The bright warm toned accent sees its way across the entire constructions as well while outlining the tongue tab and wings iconography for extra flair across its mix of black overlays and white unders. Grab an official look at these right below and expect a release on July 27th for $160 USD.

UPDATE: It looks like EU retailers will be releasing their pairs on August 17th.
