Colin Kaepernick’s Nike Air Force 1 Collaboration Features Date Of First Kneel

After Nike publicly announced their support of Colin Kaepernick’s protest against police brutality through their Emmy-award winning “Just Do It” Campaign back in September 2018, the door was opened for the two to curate product launches reflective of his movement. After crossing apparel pieces off of their list, it look as though their partnership is moving into the footwear category here shortly, arriving in the form of this upcoming Air Force 1 collaboration. First previewed on Kaepernick’s feet before his recent (and controversial) NFL workout, these specially crafted renditions feature various accents symbolic of the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback such as his facial silhouette and initial/7 logos. However, the most important detail on these arrive printed across the outsoles. Laid out on the inside of its translucent home, the numbers “081416” run the length of the tread representative of August 14th, 2016, the exact date that he first took a knee during a pre-game National Anthem ceremony. Color story is kept consistent with his past Swoosh products taking on a two-toned black/white color combination, with the Swoosh logos fashioned in greyscale gradience. Stay tuned as we learn of official release info, and find these dropping at select Nike retailers in the coming weeks.
