Matthew M Williams has been garnering frenzy within the streetwear scene for years. From his days at BEEN TRILL with his buddies Heron Preston and Virgil Abloh to his influence on Dior’s SS19 collection, Williams has been the design genius behind some of streetwear’s most notable pieces. But what he’s best known for is his 1017 ALYX 9SM brand, where he embraces a sleek mix of industrial and utility-esque elements and minimal use of color.
Since early 2020, ALYX Studio has been collaborating with Nike to incorporate these bold style elements into the sportswear brand’s footwear and apparel. The menswear label has even created new sneaker silhouettes for the brand with models such as the Zoom MMW 4 and Free TR3 MMW. Following October 2020’s release of a black ALYX Studio Nike Air Force 1 High, a white pair is preparing for its drop. Complete ALYX’s signature buckle on the ankle strap and silver text wrapped around the heel with ALYX’s branding, the model is yet another clean example of luxury-meets-casual, set by Matthew M Williams.
