During the Spring of 2020, Reebok ushered in the Zig Kinetica, a silhouette that served as the next milestone in ZigTech’s near decade-long run. And now, an entire year thereafter, the brand is further evolving the franchise with the aptly named Zig Kinetica II.
Though touted as a “teardown evolution,” the Zig Kinetica II still features the iconic three-prong absorption system, bearing Floatride Fuel, Zig Energy Bands, and Zig Energy Shells to both channel and return kinetic energy. Above, the upper treats its now stripped down material make-up to a number of high-energy color palettes, each of which also shine light on the skeletal structure that’s much more visible on this newer iteration.
Come February 1st, when the collection will be unlocked for early-access members, three total arrangements will be introduced. “Digi-Scape,” a theme consisting of both a women’s exclusive and a unisex colorway, is both loud yet somehow still reserved in certain respects. The uppers along both pairs are hued primarily in neutrals, while the sole, lace unit, and lining infuse neon accents. The “ARS” is another women’s specific offering that sets itself apart from the aforementioned with a sublimated layer of distorted, abstract graphics; tonal greys, whites, and a small pop of green then colors in the fixtures adjacent. Lastly, come long after on April 1st, the “Digi-Warp” will be unveiled. Unlike the options previous, this scheme covers its side profile with an oversized vector.
