Dubai’s amongst few streetwear brand has kept things simple for its first-ever Reebok collaboration. Inspired by both the Arab world and the intricate craftsmanship of carpet weaving, the “Magic Carpet” Club C 85 release connects East and West.
Reminiscent of some of the silhouette’s most celebrated collaborations of the last three years (i.e. Patta, JJJJound, Eames Office), amongst few’s iteration of the tennis-informed design maintains a predominantly “Footwear White” colorway across its high-quality leather upper. Hits of light grey enter the mix just underneath the collar and via the hairy inner-lining, but the most prominent co-star to the “colorless” ensemble is the slightly-yellowed arrangement visible at the nylon tone and EVA foam midsole. The Dubai-based brand didn’t waste the opportunity to bring its Eastern identity to sneaker form, however, applying English and Arabic branding on the profile mid-foot windows, lace tips, spines and medial tabs. Removable sock-liners feature two different carpet-inspired patterns, with the left shoe’s matching the print found on the Club C 85’s shoe box. Together, each aforementioned component helps create a canvas for amongst few, which will surely open the doors for other brands out East.
